Finished Boise Plein Air Painting

I just wanted to post my painting again from the Boise Plein Air Event a few weeks ago. A recent post showed how it looked when I finished it in the field photographed with my iphone. Now I have spent a couple of hours fine-tuning the painting. I think this version is worthy of the Merit Award I received. I neutralized the rocks, adjusted the bridge and added skyholes to the trees.

What I'm working on this week . . .

I am excited to have this new blog site as I can share paintings in progress as well as the final results. This 36"x36"painting is my focus for the week.  I am working from an image I took in Monterey, California. I will allow this to dry, apply a light varnish and then add some seagulls on the beach and around the rocks.

Merit Award at Boise Plein Air Competition

My piece that won a Merit Award at the 2013 Boise Plein Air Competition presented on July 7. This 12 x 12 painting was done at Ann Morrison Park.

Boise Plein-Air Competition July 5-7

The Boise Plein Air Competition and Show was July 5-7. I am painting in the "Quick Draw" event on  Friday night at the Capitol-we had 90 minutes to complete our paintings that evening.

New Blog

Welcome to my new blog site. I have moved my current blog so I can keep information about new paintings and events more current for my clients and followers. I will also have the ability to add images of in-progress paintings, finished paintings and field studies.
