Just returned from a great vacation with the hubby in Banff, Canada. We went on many great hikes around the Banff National Parks including Lake Louise. We also spent a couple of days in Calgary checking out the sights including the fabulous Zoo. I am so glad we chose to drive from Idaho so I could take lots of pictures for painting inspiration. Another beautiful area was the Chinook Valley farmlands outside of Calgary. Also, some amazing golden meadows and wheat fields in the Palouse area of Northern Idaho!

Thanks for a great show!
I just wanted to send out a big "Thanks" for all my supporters at the Bellevue ARTSfair this past weekend. My work continues to be popular in the Seattle area, and many pieces have found their way into new homes. It was a great pleasure to visit with my previous collectors and hear how much they continue to love their paintings.

Preparing for show in Bellevue, Washington.
Hi all,
I have been quite busy preparing for my upcoming show in Bellevue, Washington next week. The show is July 25, 26 and 27 at the Bellevue Square Shopping Center. This year I have created a large selection of paintings with beautiful custom frames.
My paintings should all have titles and will be updated on the website by the end of the week.

Stuart Shils Workshop in Sedona, Arizona
Hi all, I just returned from back-to-back workshops in Sedona, Arizona with Artist Stuart Shils. The workshops were fantastic with the focus on Emphasizing Abstraction in nature. I have been a great fan of Stuart's work for several years and really admire the way he sees shapes and forms in nature and creates a body of work that recreates nature in a fresh and interesting way.
We did a lot of sketching-with both right and left hands. We even did drawings with our eyes closed after viewing our scene and trying to imagine what we saw in our minds. All wonderful exercises that I will continue to practice. I am enthusiastic to see how my paintings will develop after Stuart's guidance.
You can view Stuart's website using the link below. I have also included a link to a wonderful interview with Stuart.

Painting on the Greenbelt in Garden City
Wednesday, I painted along the Greenbelt along the Boise River in Garden City with my artist friend, Les Herman. After a little over 2 hours, I decided to finish my 8"x8" painting in my studio-where it was a bit warmer! Next time I will bring my UGG's and a heavier jacket. Definitely a nip in the air today.

Friday's Plein Air painting along the Boise River
Friday I painted along the Boise River in Eagle. I love this location behind Two Rivers Spa and Salon. All my paintings from this week were done on 8" x 8" linen panels. These "field studies" will be used for larger studio paintings, but will eventually be available for sale. A couple of men out for a stroll on a nearby trail said I have the best office in Boise. Yes, I sure do!
